The Passage House – From Ferry Port to Ocean Hub
Perched at the water’s edge in historic Cattedown, the Passage House has long been part of Plymouth’s maritime soul. Once the heart of a ferry crossing between Cattedown and Oreston, it welcomed ferrymen, dockworkers, and seafarers whose lives followed the tides.
Though the original inn was tragically lost to fire in 1903, it was quickly rebuilt—and remains a proud witness to Plymouth’s working-waterfront past.
A New Chapter: Sound Diving & The Ocean Community
Today, the Passage House is alive again as the vibrant home of Sound Diving Plymouth. It is once more a haven for ocean lovers, marine stewards, and adventurers.
